Dr. Alexa Torontow is a licensed Naturopathic Doctor with a Doctorate from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine, where she completed her clinical internship at the Robert Schad Naturopathic Clinic. Lisa is a Registered Physiotherapist and graduated with a Masters in Physiotherapy in 2004 from McMaster University.
During her time at McMaster Lisa had the opportunity to obtain experience in a variety of outpatient and hospital clinics including a Northern Studies clinical rotation in Geraldton, Ontario.
Lisa believes in always striving to find the source of her patient’s pain and treating the dysfunction, not only the symptoms.
In order to achieve this goal, she has taken more than 18 courses on advanced manual therapy techniques, craniosacral therapy, myofascial release, visceral manipulation, neurokinetic therapy, SFMA and muscle retraining.
She focuses on a holistic approach and ensures after a thorough assessment, she will develop a patient centred treatment plan involving manual therapy, exercises and education to prevent re-injury.
Lisa has also been a preceptor for training physiotherapy assistant students, kinesiologists and resident physiotherapists.
